Objective: The field visit to JR Garments, Indoor, and Sri Skill Tailoring Training Unit aims to provide students with hands-on exposure to various aspects of the garment and apparel industry. This visit serves as an empowerment initiative, enhancing their skill set and providing practical insights into garment production and tailoring
The students will visit JR Garments, a well-known garment manufacturer, where they will be introduced to the operational and business side of the garment industry. The key learning areas include:
Manufacturing Process Overview: Students will get a detailed understanding of how raw materials are transformed into finished garments. They will observe various stages like fabric cutting, stitching, finishing, quality control, and packaging.
Use of Modern Machinery: Exposure to automated machinery like sewing machines, overlock machines, and hemming machines that enhance the efficiency and quality of garment production. Students will also get hands-on practice under supervision.
Quality Control: The importance of maintaining high standards in garment quality will be emphasized, and students will observe how quality checks are implemented to ensure the final product meets industry standards.
